Sipho Mbuto is a Fashion Designer and the Creative Director of the eponymous label he launched in 2018, at the age of 26.
The label produces menswear main line collections positioned as unisex, as his brand’s identity is centered around the strength of individuality and not on sex, sexual orientation, societal order or other normative pressures.
Mbuto’s design aesthetic draws its essence from the playful imaginative tales of craftsmanship that explores freedom of self-expression; reflecting both on the past and present, with the influence of architectural structures and abstracts arts. His work is characterized by strength and clever combination of functionality and monochromatic detail.
The Durban University of Technology Fashion Design graduate has many accolades, including winning the Best Menswear Range Award and the Gideon Merit Award, and being a finalist for the SA Fashion Week Student Competition in 2017 and the MINI Scouting Menswear Competition in association with GQ.
His vision for his brand is to inspire a generation of customers to dress in garments that have structural forms, that are challenged and experimental in shape and contemporary utility.
