NESU founder, Denzel Vilakazi, studied Fashion Design at the Tshwane University of Technology. In 2017, he was the runner-up at the Gauteng Sansui Summer Cup.

While part of the 21 Steps to Retail programme, in partnership with the Edcon Group, he established NESU. His brand seeks to preserve indigenous South African wear and pay homage to Africa, while creating modern garments for women, men and gender-neutral individuals.

The vision is to create garments that reflect ease and comfort within one’s own skin. NESU is comprised of organic, yet structural silhouettes catering for Africans and the global world
