For AW27, Gert-Johan Coetzee presents Reflection, a collection that looks back whilst moving forwards.  Growing up in Koster, where natural farm life shaped his earliest memories, Coetzee’s fascination with fashion began in childhood, long before he started his formal design studies at sixteen.  Reflection revisits that contrast: the honesty and simplicity of rural life set against the glamour, precision and theatre now synonymous with his luxury brand.  Yet reflection is not nostalgia alone.

It considers the defining moments of building a highly successful fashion business – the triumphs that affirm a vision and the challenges every designer must overcome to keep moving forward. Coetzee transforms experience into inspiration, drawing strength from the past while understanding the future and remaining firmly present in the now.  Reflection is therefore both personal and universal: a celebration of where we begin, how far ambition can carry us, and the resilience required to become who we are.
