Mikhail Brown designs for people who live between worlds. His collection, The Black Swan, takes inspiration from South Africa’s underground and art scenes, especially feminine-bodied people whose style and presence are often overlooked. Influenced by the drawings of David Rappeneau and the rave kids rarely referenced by fashion, his work looks for beauty outside the expected. Through clothing, Mikhail creates space for individuality, belonging and a different idea of who high fashion can speak to.
