Musa Wenkosi’s menswear design studio is based in Johannesburg.

MUSAWENKOSi tailors’ atelier system – to precisely match the contours of his client’s body – allows him to get to know his client on a more personal level as his creations are an extension of who he is. With everything he crafts, he adds an element of himself as well as the personality of the wearer. His current collection titled “VALERIE” the name of his late mother which also means strong, valiant, and healthy, is the sole DNA of MUSAWENKOSi, which seeks to refine the tennis style aesthetic from a progressively forward-thinking perspective. 

The MUSAWENKOSi collection is embellished with handcrafting techniques, including embroidery, beadwork, and hand dying.

“We created a life cycle assessment to collect data on every stage of the garments' lifecycle. Our care labels include various instructions for folding the garment when washed, how to place it when you take it off, and elongating the lifespan of a garment”. 

Wenkosi draws inspiration for his prints, from iconic vintage, everlasting, hand-me-downs.
