ABOUT

Johannesburg-based since 2005, Thula Sindi, was born and raised in Klerksdorp, in northwest province. Here he discovered his interest in fine art at a young age and chose to settle on fashion as his preferred medium because of the freedom it allowed him to mix colours, concepts, and proportions. He began his fashion career as head designer for the Dutch textile company, Vlisco, after completing his schooling at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg and degree in fashion design at the LISOF (currently know as Stadio School of Fashion). He launched his eponymous label at South African Fashion Week in 2006.

Sindi was named SA Tourism Designer of the Year for 2012, and made Forbes magazine’s list of Africa’s thirty best young entrepreneurs.

A sophisticated ready-to-wear signature with a distinctively modern and timeless aesthetic. In Sindi’s words “aimed at a woman of consequence.”
