Bongani Mwale’s journey stems from years of orchestrating major collections as a Head Designer of others to one day deciding to pivot leading to the creation of ZAYONI authentic wear. ZAYONI authentic wear has allowed him to master the complex architecture of denim which has led to his Dream to come true by showcasing his talent at this year’s SAFW. His collection titled Iphupho (The Dream) is not only inspired by his dreams and creative expression coming to realisation. It is also about the courage to start over. This collection is dedicated to his mother, Mam’ Nondlela meaning (The one who shows the path). She has not only held his hand through his journey but she has encouraged resilience in him. These values have seen to Bongani Mwale utilize his experience to carve out his personal creative path in the fashion world.
